Daniel Hesselson
Dr. Dan Hesselson received his PhD and postdoctoral training in the USA where he used model systems to address fundamental questions in cellular and developmental biology. He established his lab at the Garvan in 2012 where his group is exploiting the experimental advantages of the zebrafish model to develop new approaches for tackling a range of metabolic disorders. His lab is currently focused on applying targeted genome editing using TALEN and CRISPR technology to generate relevant animal models for human disease.
